- - - > Photos! Fools Gold WMC 08 Showcase @ White Room (miami) 03.28.09 < - - -
First off, let me just say this was one highly insane/intense party! Everyone kept showing up out of nowhere and playing surprise sets! By the end of the night (well 4am at least...party went on til 5 or so), the whole stage was filled with DJs and promoters. Chromeo showed up and Dave 1 hopped on the mic, just not to sing...Tommy Sunshine popped in for a bit. Surkin, Para One, and Bombo from Institubes showed up and Surkin performed one hell of a set. Really amazing stuff! Daniel from LA Riots got the crowd going wild, along with Treasure Fingers. Then Jessie from MSTRKRFT tag teamed with Daniel and really kicked it up. The crowd was surfing, jumping, pounding the stage. Jokers of the Scene then took over and really impressed me...I've never heard them live before, followed by Boys Noize, who always kills it. A-Trak then finished off the night...and talk about impressive. Dude actually spins and scratches records like an old-schooler. Very very good!

So 2 weekends ago I shot photos for Urb Magazine, based out of Los Angelas, CA. Of course, thats the home of a booming DJ scene right now with acts including Franki Chan, Steve Aoki, Them Jeans, LA Riots, and Afrobots to name a bunch.
I covered two parties they sponsored for the Art Basel festival in Miami, FL.

With that blurb off their "about me" page being said, I'm very excited that my phttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifhotos are included/associated with their magazine and website. Hopefully I'll be working with them real soon again!

Also, Marc De Jesus, the flagman in Gym Class Heroes, has been using my photos as his default ever since the Official Fallout Boy Afterparty at Firestone on November 1st. Neat!

This show was awesome!!! First time in MIAMI and Art Basel, shooting for URB Magazine, Music Loves Fashion, and Jeff Duke & Adam Frankel Productions...
LA Riots really killed it, I need to see more and more and more of them live! Local Johnny the Boy pumped up the crowd early on and really got them moving...LA Riots took over and churched out the electro to the best of anyones abilities, then MSTRKRFT took the "drivers seats" and did what they do best, make people dance, dance, dance!

Tonight starts off a crazy busy weekend!
DJ Orgasmic, part of the Paris Terror Club/Institubes clique, is returning tonight for a solo performance behind the turntables!
Check out the photos from his last visit to Firestone and from the afterparty!
THEN, in some awesome news, I'll be shooting for URB MAGAZINE (from LA) this weekend at Art Basel. I'll be shooting MSTRKRFT w/ LA riots at The Pawn Shop on Friday night, then MOBY and Princess Superstart at Studio A on Saturday. FUNFUNFUN!!
Anyone else heading to either of these shows or Art Basel in general?
