So there's this hurricane (Tropical Storm Fay), right? And its sitting over Florida for like day 3 out of 5. It's wet as hell outside and raining non-stop, the humidity is at 300%. Suite B, usually packed so full on a Saturday (actually, Wednesday) night that you can't breathe without inhaling the warm sweat of some guy you know you've seen somewhere before. (ill finish this sentence for her... was not surprisingly empty that night due to the storm.)
So, you get dragged out of your house by some gung-ho friend/acquaintance/photographer boyfriend (in her case) that wants to be there to take pictures of Krames' third appearance at Orlando's weekly party, Carnival, and its as empty as a case of beer at a high school party at midnight. You're actually the first people there, arriving early after being dropped off by your friend, who obviously has better things to do.
But soon, something amazing happens. People start filling in, and its a bunch of people you know. DJs you've seen perform a hundred times before (Keyth Conversion an Hallcall) lay down the foundation for night begins to feel as comfortable as a house party at your best-friend-since-high-school's house. The few strangers there feel right at home quickly because there is tons of free booze available to anyone who dares ask, easing anyone into a drunken comfort.
Soon Krames comes on, and the dance floor is full, and people are dancing. Outside, mother nature is trying to turn Florida into an island, but inside Suite B the crowd danced as if the world would never end, as if they would all be young forever, as if the tropical storm wouldn't last 2 or 3 more days.
(Seeing Krames 'rave out' for about 15 minutes straight before more then 20 people entered the club was alone worth the journey through Fay!)

Holy freaking damn, what a good time this was! Fortunately I took photos to help myself, and all of you, remember the night.
It was my first time seeing my buddy Evan (AKA E.Strange) behind the turntables and I have to say I was pretty impressed! His song selection was really good, I even heard songs I've never heard before, and that's always a cool thing. A good, high-energy set to start the night off right.
Anita (AKA Miss Fit) and Justin (AKA Justin Scott) boomed and bleeped the roof off of Backbooth, as they never fail to do, proving why they're still here and still prominent in Orlando's club scene.
Pauly Crush. Well, Pauly is the #1 DJ in Orlando according to the Orlando Weekly and the founder of Backbooth's Crush. Hence the DJ name! Pauly pulled out a good number of his classics, the songs he's known to play and the songs we still love to hear. Donovan - Yo! blending into Sugababes - About You Now (About the Videoband Remix) anyone? hehe.
He's embarking on a short stint through the Northeast next week hitting Boston and NYC before heading back to DJ at The Metropolitan Deck @ Lake Eola for the Labor Day Splash Pool Party. And of course at Crush later that night w/ DESIGNER DRUGS. Do NOT miss them, seriously.

A little bit about Get Mental and the DJs:
Mot and Spear are pretty crazy fuckers and pretty much spin some of the best shit out there. Both spin records like old-school champs! They actually have a lot of the new stuff/blog Djs on vinyl, such as Bag Raiders and a whole bunch of others I can't remember.
Mot is the dude who runs the Covert Skateshop (voted # 1 skate shop in Orlando!), so most likely you've bought shoes or something from him before. You know all those Supras Pauly wears? Yep, Mot hooked him up! So if you want to get a sweet deal or discount on some shoes, maybe stopping by and getting him a drink might help! Maybe he'll remember you next time you come in the store, if he doesn't get as drunk as usual! Check out more info at http://www.myspace.com/mot.
Andrew is a fancy artist and mural painter. Even has his own company with his buddy, Charlie (http://www.metrofinishes.com).
